Frequently Asked Questions

Clear, transparent answers to help you navigate your international medical journey with complete confidence and peace of mind.

What happens if there is a complication during or after my surgery?

Patient safety is our absolute highest priority. All our partner hospitals are JCI or NABH accredited, meaning they adhere to the strictest global protocols for complication management and emergency care. In the rare event of a complication, emergency protocols are immediately activated within the hospital. Additionally, we offer optional medical complications insurance prior to your trip that covers the cost of extended stays or revision surgeries if medically necessary.

Will my health insurance cover treatments done in India?

This depends entirely on your specific insurance provider and policy. While most standard domestic policies do not cover elective treatments abroad, an increasing number of international plans (like Bupa Global, Cigna Global, or specific employer self-funded plans) do recognize and reimburse for surgeries at our JCI-accredited facilities. We provide all necessary itemized billing, translated medical records, and official hospital stamps required for you to file a claim with your provider.

How will I communicate with my doctors if I don't speak the local language?

All Chief Medical Officers, lead surgeons, and senior nursing staff at our partner hospitals are highly fluent in English. If you require a different language (such as Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish), International Support Group provides a dedicated, medically-trained interpreter who will be by your side during all consultations, the admission process, and discharge instructions to ensure zero communication barriers.

Do I need to arrange my own Medical Visa and airport transfers?

No, we handle the heavy lifting for you. Once you accept a treatment plan, the hospital issues an official Medical Visa Invitation Letter. We guide you through the fast-tracked e-Medical Visa process. Upon your arrival in the destination country, a representative will meet you at the airport gate, handle your luggage, and provide a direct, private transfer to either your hotel or the hospital depending on your clinical itinerary.

Are there any hidden fees or surprise costs when I arrive?

Absolutely not. Transparency is our core value. Before you travel, you will receive an itemized quote that includes surgeon fees, anesthesia, standard hospital stay (ICU & Ward), routine medications, and standard consumables. The only time costs deviate is if there is a severe, unforeseen medical complication requiring extended ICU time or additional specialized surgeries, which your doctor will discuss with you transparently.

How is my follow-up care handled once I return to my home country?

Your care does not end when you board your flight home. Upon discharge, you are provided with a comprehensive digital medical file, translated operative notes, and a clear recovery plan. We arrange scheduled telemedicine video consultations between you and your surgeon at the 1-week, 1-month, and 3-month marks. We can also coordinate with your primary care physician back home to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
